We've Got the Whole World in Our Pockets

My paintings feature people interacting with smartphones in public spaces. Smartphones are omnipresent in our social landscape. They are modern-day all-in-one pocket knives which provide seemingly endless outlets of information, entertainment, and communication. We've Got the Whole World in Our Pockets explores the inherent connection between technology and human experience in an increasingly digital world. It's a moment in time where pockets bulge an unnatural rectangle and faces glow a sickly blue/green while thumbs restlessly bob around their range of motion.
